                                          Daughter- Kim Granddaughter- Kailynn

Why I became a Lion- My brother-in-law got me into the Lions in Moorhead, Mn in the early 80's.  When I moved to Minot
in 1990,
I ran into  Dave Snyder ringing the bell for the Salvation Army and he invited me to join the Magic City
Lions.

Reason I became a Lion: There are three benefits of our Club; outstanding fellowship, great community service, and the
information
learned regarding the local community. I have never been associated with a more honorable group of
people.
Not only do we support our community, but we provide support to each other. The camaraderie that we
                                 have is "just plain fun".

Awards/Honors- Melvin Jones Fellow, Lion of the Year, Club President Excellence Award, Lion's Appreciation Award

Offices Held- President, Tail Twister

Committtee Chairs- MD5 Convention Chair, State Convention Co-Chair, Membership Committee

Most Memorable moment in Lions- I have had many great moments in Lions, but the most satisfying was working with our
Lions
and the Lion's Clubs in the area to hold the MD5 Convention in 2000.  I had the opportunity
to meet and work with many great Lions.  Many are leaders and role models for all of
us.

Messages from your fellow Lions
" I have a lot of respect for Ron Meier.  He is a very good Lion and I have enjoyed working with him through the years.
He is a tremendous leader and is always helpful when it comes to helping the Lions with work projects or just helping the
club out. He has a great sense of humor and is fun to be around."

"Lion Ron has been an exceptional member of Magic City Lions.  He has served as our membership chairman many
times and has personally sponsored seven new members.  He has served on the Governor's cabinet several times and
was the MD5 Convention Chairman in 2000 and the State Convention co-chairman in 2005. Now he has agreed to be our
Tail Twister, a position he also held in 1998-99.  Lion Ron has been and continues to be an outstanding asset to our club.
Thanks for your GREAT work Lion Ron!"

"Lion Ron has been a very loyal, committed member since joining the Magic City Lion's Club.  No one has worked
harder on seeking out and bringing in new people as members.  He is to be commended for his unselfish devotion to
Lionism.  Truly a great guy and a great friend!
                                                                                                                                            -Lion David Snyder-

"A "BIG" thank you to Lion David Snyder for sponsoring Ron in our Club. A more active & dedicated member we do
not have! Lion Ron always steps forward & gives 110% in Club activities.  His humor & participation at Tuesday
meetings is a welcome highlight I always look forward to. THANK YOU LION RON for being so proactive & a great
addition to our Lions Club."

                                                                                                                                                -Lion Gene Neal-

"Lion Ron is a great member of Magic City Lions.  Lion Ron has alot of knowledge about Lions and has worked very
hard to bring in new members.  I got to know Ron when we rang bells for the Salvation Army.  It was there we learned
that we had both lived in the same community(Cando) when we were young!  I had the pleasure of working for Lion Ron,
chairperson of both the MD5 & State Convention.  It was because of his knowledge and organization, the conventions
were a success."
