A Bio of Robert Jensen: Robert was born May 7, 1930 to Henry & Ethel Jensen from Westhope, ND. He
was raised and educated in Westhope. He graduated from high school in 1948. He then attended ND School of
Forestry Bottineau, ND. He graduated in 1950. Bob worked for C & G Furniture in Bottineau until Jan 1952.
He then spent two years in the Marine Corp until Jan 1954.
Bob married Arlene Shemmen Feb 26, 1954 and moved to Denver, Co. He returned to Minot in August 1954
to attend Minot State College. Bob graduated in May 1956. He took a job with St Joseph's hospital in the
administrative office until Nov 1957.
Bob moved to Minot Midwest Federal and worked there until April 30, 1989. He retired after 31 years of
service. He had worked his way up to Sr. VP Treas. when he retired.
During his time at Midwest Federal, Bob was involved with many groups and organizations. He was chairman
for many years of the Minot Heart Fund. He also was the chairman of the Ward Co. American Red Cross.
Bob was active with the Boys Scouts at the troop level. Board member of the Great Plains Area Council of
Boy Scouts. He was a Board Member of ND Savings & Loan Institutions and served as president from
Bob is a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Minot. He has served as a trustee and for 3 years was an
Bob is a charter member of the Magic City Lions. He served as president from 1970-71. He also was a
member of Minot Elks Lodge, Minot Eagles Club and American Legion.
After he retired, Bob spent 18 winters in Mesa, AZ. He is now happy to be a year around member of the
Magic City Lions again!
