Magic City Lions  charter banquet was October 11, 1969.  There were 30 members
in  the original Magic City Lions.  We currently have 40 members. One  of the
original members (Lion Jim Keller) is still in the Club.  See the orginal roster by

The Magic City Lions meets on Tuesdays at 7:30 am at the Parker Center, 21 1st
Ave SE, Minot, North Dakota.  The Club does not meet on Tuesdays following a
Monday holiday or the two weeks between Christmas & New Years.  Our business
meeting is the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
MISSION STATEMENT: To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for
humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services though community involvement and
international  cooperation.

The Magic City Lions joined with Young Professionals and the
Surrey Lions to buy and deliver 16 complete Thanksgiving dinners
on November 21.

Dr Erik Anderson with Lion Kerry Hansen at
our Feb 6 meeting. Dr Anderson spoke on
the Community Rocks event on Feb 17 to
benefit the YWCA.  Erik also played his cello
for the group. It was a fabulous performance!
On Feb 8, the Magic City Lions gave out
seven checks to worthy organizations.  
We are presenting Dakota Hope Clinic
with their check.

We had several Lions work at the YWCA Community Rocks
project on Feb 17 at the Grand Hotel.  Great job, Magic City
Lions!
Lion Marita Hoffart was our speaker at our Feb 20 meeting. Lion
Marita spoke about her trip the Lions International Convention in
Chicago in July. Lion Marita brought back pins for our club.

Susanne Hoskin the Key Award pin for bringing a
new member into our club!
These Magic City Lions worked at the Special Olympic
Basketball tournament at the MSU Dome on March 9 &
10. Always a fun event for our group to be a part of each
year!
Lion Marita Hoffart with Susan Burkhart at our
March 20 meeting.  Susan spoke on the effects
and causes of
Diabetes!  Thanks for speaking to our club,
Susan!
The Magic City Lions particpated in our annual Pancake
Breakfast at Badlands. We had a record attendance. Great
work, Lions!
We had a good time at our Spring Bake Sale fundraiser
on March 27. Thanks to all the Lions that brought baked
goods and all who bid on them. It was a very successful
fund raiser again this year!
Faith Quintana, Hannah Schaefer with
Lion Lisa Thuner at April 3 meeting. They
represent HOSA from Central and Magic
City Campus.  HOSA is for students going
into health related fields in the future.
We had a very successful Germanfest on April 7. We had a sold crowd of
over 300.  Fun time was had by all. Hope you can make it next year!

These Magic City Lions and several not pictured worked the Big One Craft
Show on April 13-14.  We worked taking tickets as a fund raiser for our club!  
Great job to all the Lions that participated in this project!
Dan Daffinrud from SkySkopes.Inc was our speaker on April 17.
Dan spoke on how his company does data processing from their
drones.  Thanks for a very interesting presentation, Dan!

Lion Sharon Palmer with Jordan Lakoduk. Jordan was our
speaker at our April 24 meeting. Jordan is developing an
app  for the Audio Description Project at the Scandinavian
Park in Minot. The app will help the sight impaired hear the
descriptive narrative at the park.
Shaun Sipma with Lion Bob Nyre at our May 1 meeting.  Shaun is
running for mayor of Minot. He expressed his views on the future
of the Magic City. Thanks for speaking to our club, Shaun!
