Magic City Lions  charter banquet was October 11, 1969.  There were 30 members
in  the original Magic City Lions.  We currently have 40 members. One  of the
original members (Lion Jim Keller) is still in the Club.  See the orginal roster by

The Magic City Lions meets on Tuesdays at 7:30 am at the Parker Center, 21 1st
Ave SE, Minot, North Dakota.  The Club does not meet on Tuesdays following a
Monday holiday or the two weeks between Christmas & New Years.  Our business
meeting is the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
MISSION STATEMENT: To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for
humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services though community involvement and
international  cooperation.

Chelsea Gleich with Lion Ann Olson at our November
26 meeting. Chelsea is the editor of Minot Magazine.
She hopes to feature people, places to see, and events
in Minot. Lion Ann Olson is the cover the Cultivate
issue Summer 2019.

Lion Bill Johnson with Katie Taylor from
the Souris Valley Animal Shelter spoke
to our club at our Jan 6 meeting. They
would like to adopt out as many cats and
dogs as possible.
Lion Darlene Johnson with Wendy Keller
and Liz Weeks at our Jan 21 meeting.  
Wendy and Liz are from the Magic City
Discovery Center.  They gave a very
informative and interesting update on the
children's museum being planned in Minot.
Lion Darlene with Laurie Dannewitz, Jason Skjervem and Tim
Knutson at our January 28 meeting.  They spoke to our club
about the upcoming Giving Hearts Day on February 13. All
donations stay local!!
Jazmine Shultz with Lion Susanne Hoskin at our
Feb 4 meeting. Jazmine spoke was promoting
"Fighting February" events at the Prairie Sky
Bread location across from the Parker. Eacb  
Thursday in February they will host a fun everning
of summer games, display local artists works and
story telling.
Lion Nicole Swartwout with New Lion, Jana
Schultz at our Feb 11 meeting. Welcome to
our club, Lion Jana. We hope you have a

Leslie Halseth with Lion Nicole Swartwout at our Feb 18
meeting.  Leslie is the president of North Dakota Hands &
Voices. She gave an interesting and informative talk on the
organization's mission to support parents of children with
hearing loss. Many thanks for speaking to our club.
Brekka Kramer with Lion Nicole Swartwout at our
Feb 25 meeting. Brekka spoke to us about type 1
diabetes and her personal experience with both her
daughters. JDRF-Juvenile Diabetes Research
Foundaton and how we can help them.  The annual
JDRF walk will take place in Minot on Sept 20, 2020.
We welcomed a new Lion into our den.  Lion Mary Stark
sponsored Lion Laurel Abel into our club on Feb 25.  We
hope you have a great experience in our club, Lion Laurel.

March 3, Becky Dewitz, the Director of Minot's Roosevelt
Park Zoo, gave a informative presentation on the changes
happening at the zoo!!  She encouraged us to check out the
new lion and tiger habitats.
Lion Marita Hoffart was presented the Key Award for
bringing new members into our club by Lion Nicole
Swartwout.
